Zimbabwe Consulate General in Bangkok

Document Verification

  • The Consulate-General of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Bangkok provides document verification services on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe in Malaysia, which is accredited to Thailand.
  • Please note that the Consulate-General does not authenticate or certify documents. Its role is limited to verifying original Zimbabwean documents before forwarding the verification to the Embassy for further processing.
  • The Embassy certifies Zimbabwean documents only.
  • The Consulate-General verifies Zimbabwean documents, including marriage certificates, academic certificates and birth certificates, subject to the applicable requirements set out below.

Important Notice

The Consulate-General operates strictly by appointment for document verification services. Applicants are advised to email scanned documents for preliminary review before visiting the Consulate.

Important Requirement

  • Marriage Certificates and Academic Certificates must first be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe before they can be presented for verification.
  • Documents without the Ministry’s authentication cannot be processed.

Application Procedure

Step 1

Email clear scanned copies of:

  • the document(s) requiring verification
  • your passport

The Consulate-General will conduct a preliminary review before scheduling an appointment.

Step 2

Once the review has been completed, an appointment will be arranged.

Document verification hours: Every Wednesday from 09:30 to 15:00 hrs

Step 3

Attend the appointment with:

  • Original document(s)
  • Original passport

The originals will be verified against the scanned copies previously submitted.

Following verification, the Consulate-General will forward the verification to the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Malaysia for processing.

The Embassy will communicate directly with the applicant regarding the outcome.

Exceptional Circumstances

Applicants are normally required to appear in person for document verification.

In exceptional circumstances, the Consulate-General may permit an authorised representative to act on behalf of the applicant. Prior approval from the Consulate-General is required.

Where approval has been granted, the representative must present:

  • A signed letter of authorisation from the applicant
  • The applicant’s original passport
  • Representative’s original passport
  • The original documents for verification

Service Charges

Applicants are requested to submit complete scanned documents before their appointment.

If additional services are required at the Consulate-General, the following charges apply:
